Our Shelves are Stocked with Stand-Out Snacks
We’re not saying that the answer to life, the universe, and everything is snacks… but we’re not not saying that either. Whether your preferences for snacks lean sweet, savory, or a little bit of both, we have numerous ways (maybe even 42!) to nourish your need to nosh.
Sweets to Stave Off Snack Attacks
Chocolate & Candy
- Zingerman’s Candy Manufactory Chocolates – We have a number of snackable options from our partner business (you’ll see more from them below!) like Chocolate-Covered Espresso Beans, Chocolate-Covered Almonds, and mini Zzang! candy bars.
- Malt Balls & Toffee – Askinosie Chocolate Covered Malt Balls are made by pouring Tanzania chocolate over rich, dense malt balls. Bellstone Toffee – (milk and dark)
- Giggles – Little chewy, fruity, organic candies that just so happen to be both vegan and gluten-free.
- Kolsvarrt Swedish Fish – True Swedish fish from Malmö, Sweden! Every bag of these all-natural, vegan, gluten-free, gummy candies is designed to represent a specific fish from the waters around Sweden, and a portion of every purchase is donated to support the natural habitats of Sweden’s fish populations.
Cookies
- Gluten-Free Cookies – Choose WOW Baking Company’s soft and chewy gluten-free cookies (in Lemon Burst, Snickerdoodle, and Peanut Butter) or Marabissi amaretti cookies, or Canestrelli, an Italian shortbread cookie made with rice and corn flour.
- Gluten-Filled Cookies – Try a Waffle Cone cookie, Rustic Bakery shortbread cookies, or one of the many options from our partner business, Zingerman’s Bakehouse…
Bakehouse Baked Goods
- Cookies – You’ll always find the Bakehouse’s classic cookies—Funky Chunky Chocolate Chip, Big Os (oatmeal raisin), and Ginger Jump-Ups—and their rugelach. And then depending on the time of year, we might have other seasonal treats from them too, like mandelbrot, pignoli, or vanilla butter cookies decked out for holidays like Valentine’s Day or Easter.
- Brownies – Choose from no nuts, with nuts, or a party pack with four different types of brownies!
- Cakes & Pies – Opt for the Bakehouse’s cupcakes or individual slices of their rotating selection of cakes and pies for a personal-sized treat.
Dried Fruits
- Favols Agen Dried Plums – Yes, yes, they’re prunes, but unlike any prunes you’ve ever had. These are the famed sweet and tender Agen prunes from Southwest France.
- Rancho Meladuco Medjool Dates – Grown and sun-ripened in California, these dates are soft and candy-like, tasting of brown sugar and caramel.
- Yun Hai – Dried pearl guava and dried Irwin mango, grown by independent Taiwanese farmers.
- Ziba Foods – An artisanal nut and dried fruit company in Afghanistan dedicated to great food and sustainable business practices, we carry their sun-dried figs, Kishmish raisins, and dried white mulberries (and nuts, too, read on!).
Pudding
- Chocolate Pudding – Beloved by kids and young at heart alike, we make our take on classic chocolate pudding with five simple, but stellar ingredients: chocolate, whole milk, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Rice Pudding – Our delicious Jewish-style rice pudding is made with big red flame raisins, whole milk, vanilla, and rice.
Savory Snacks to Help the Hangries
Chips & Crackers
- Zingerman’s Potato Chips – Available in four flavors (Tellicherry Black Pepper, French Grey Sea Salt, Detroit Street Barbecue, and Dill-icious Dill Pickle) and two sizes (go for the large bag!), we teamed up with Great Lakes Potato Chips to make our ideal potato chips.
- Bagel Chips – We make our bagel chips in-house from Zingerman’s Bakehouse bagels.
- Crackers – We have a wide cracker selection, from matzo crackers to taralli to sourdough flatbread bites and more.
- Mitica Quicos – Giant crunchy corn kernels, what’s not to like?!
- American Gourmet Mini Twist Pretzels – This Michigan family-owned and operated business makes pretzels with all natural ingredients. We think these are the most delicious and buttery pretzels we’ve ever had!
- Pairings for Crunchy Things — Try our housemade Ranch dressing with your French Grey Sea Salt potato chips and Zingerman’s Creamery spreadable cheeses, like Pimento Cheese with Bagel Chips or Cervelle de Canut with crackers. Or go for a Cheese Cone or Meat Cone, selections of our finest cheeses or meats, cut and assembled with love by one of our specialty foods cheesemongers and meatmongers. Mobile meat fans should also try Schaller & Weber Square Landjaegers. They have a pleasantly chewy texture similar to jerky, and, like jerky, they’re also perfect for snacking on the go—we lovingly refer to them as “pocket meat!”
Nuts
- Zingerman’s Nuts – We’ve had some of our absolute favorites packaged up, including Piedmont hazelnuts, South Georgia pecans, Livermore red walnuts, and Virginia salted peanuts.
- Mitica Nuts – We carry a selection of their Spanish Marconas fried in olive oil: classic, spicy, and lemon pepper.
- Ziba Foods (again!) – Wild grown in Afganistan, these baby pistachio kernels are dry roasted and salted.
Briny Things
- Pickles – Find everything from our New and Old Dill pickles to pickled vegetables like asparagus and pumpkin and more in our pickle selection.
- Olives – Green, black, with pits, pitted, jarred, by the pound… we have more than a dozen olive options!
Snacks with Substance
- Latkes – Classic Jewish potato pancakes made with Yukon Gold potatoes, served with your choice of applesauce or sour cream. Learn about the history of these potato pancakes on our blog.
- Knish – We make this potato-filled Jewish pastry in four flavors: potato (vegetarian), chicken, pastrami, or kasha (aka roasted buckwheat). Read more about knish on our blog.
Sweet & Savory Snack-tastic Selections
- Zingerman’s Candy Manufactory Peanuts – These peanuts are freshly roasted, lightly sweetened, and tossed with spices from Épices de Cru, available in Cinnamon, Salt & Pepper, and Sweet Chili.
- More Sweet and Salty Nuts – In addition to their Marconas, we also carry Mitica Nuts’ Caramelized Pecans and Moka Pecans. And for a sweeter spin on our Virginina peanuts, try our butter-toasted version, coated in butter and sugar, the butter forms a crispy, caramel-like jacket and the sugar sweetens them just a little.
- Zingerman’s Candy Manufactory Brittles – Peanut and cashew brittles, cooked in small batches to a deep butterscotch flavor with butter and sea salt by expert candy cooks, then pulled by hand at just the right moment into a light and airy, crispy and crunchy packed-with-nuts delight. (Available in chocolate-covered versions, too!)
- Ziba Foods (3rd time’s a charm!) – For when you want their dried fruits and nuts together, their trail mix is just the thing, with a satisfying combination of dried mulberries, wild pistachios, Kishmish raisins, apricot kernels, and Gurbandi almonds.
- Granolas – Two tasty options to choose from! G’s Granola, made in our Deli kitchen and loaded up with nuts, and Zingerman’s Deli x Teffola Cherry Cacao Granola, with Michigan cherries and Teffola (a nutrient-dense, gluten-free, ancient grain grown on a local 7th generation family farm).
So the next time you feel an oncoming snack attack, don’t panic! We’ve got more options for managing munchies than the restaurant at the end of the universe. Should you need something to wet your whistle whilst snacking, we have an extensive tea selection. We also have several options that are almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea, including cocktail and mocktail fixins and an ever-changing selection of beer and wine. And for the extra-prepared traveler (excursions from the Deli to your couch totally count), yes, we do carry a towel, too.
