We’re celebrating Veganuary with VegMichigan and 3 Sandwich(es) of the Month during the month of January
VegMichigan works to promote the health, ethical, and sustainable benefits of eating more plants and Veganuary is an annual challenge started in the UK that promotes and educates about veganism by encouraging people to follow a vegan lifestyle for the month of January. We’re helping out by offering 3 vegan sandwiches during the month of January. To learn about other vegan offerings at Zingerman’s Deli, check out A Well-Versed Guide to a Vegan-Friendly Deli Visit on our Deli Dish blog.
Introducing the sandwiches!
Sandwich #1: The Right Tempeh-ture! It’s January, and the way the time cold, we wanna be keeping you warm! Just like Sean Paul, we got the right tempeh-ture to shelter you from the storm! This vegan sandwich is the perfect way to start the new year right. This smoked tempeh is an exclusive recipe just for us this month from The Brinery. We layer it with lettuce, tomato, and sliced avocado between two toasted slices of Rustic Italian bread. Oh oh, is this sandwich the way to go?
Sandwich #2: Amazing Grace (Rodger’s Version). Say hello to a new “era” of this retired sandwich! The original Amazing Grace’s Family Shroom has quite the reputation, and we know you’ll love this new spin on it. Named for Deli partner Grace Singleton, Amazing Grace (Rodger’s Version) includes Moroccan Carrot Spread, mushrooms, and cucumber are slathered in delicious tahini dressing and sandwiched in a hoagie bun. Our Carrot Spread is made with carrots and sweet potatoes, housemade harissa, olives, and a healthy dose of herbs. We’ll be serving Amazing Grace (Rodger’s Version) daily through January, so get it while you can! You’ll love it evermore!
Sandwich #3: Cauli Bahn Ve. Sandwich Line Manager Mike has cooked up a brilliant way for our vegan friends to enjoy the wonderful flavors of a banh mi – say hello to the Cauli Bahn Ve! Fried cauliflower with a generous drizzle of a brown sugar sweetened soy and crushed red pepper sauce, slices of pickled onions and cucumber, and a dash of rice vinegar and sesame oil all come together on a grilled Paesano roll to create those classic Banh Mi flavors that we adore.
