Bob’s Sandwich, October’s Sandwich of the Month
October’s Sandwich of the Month was created in memory of Bob Wechsler by his loving family. Bob loved life, but above all, he loved being with people! An avid reader and traveler, Bob’s absolute happy place was simple: breaking bread with those he adored. In fact, he was usually planning his next meal while still eating his current one! And if it were a deli meal…even better!
Bob possessed a magical ability to make anyone feel seen and valued, whether chatting up a taxi driver, swapping ideas with an entrepreneur, or goofing around with the kids who filled his world. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle to all, Bob never met a stranger whose story he didn’t want to hear.
Bob’s family misses him dearly and thought this Sandwich of the Month opportunity at the ChadTough auction was a perfect way to honor Bob’s love of deli sandwiches AND his belief in making the lives of everyone and especially children better. He would love ChadTough and the experts they work with who are determined to change the future for children with brain cancer.
The ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation was founded by Jason and Tammi Carr, from Ann Arbor and Mark and Jenny Mosier, from Maryland–parents who are actively involved in the foundation’s governance and operations and committed to changing the outcome for future families facing a pediatric brain cancer diagnosis, especially DIPG, in honor of their children. Both the Carrs and Mosiers lost their sons, 5-year-old Chad and 6-year-old Michael, in 2015 to this horrible disease.
Bob’s Sandwich is available every day in October: Zingerman’s pastrami, Swiss Emmental cheese, housemade coleslaw, yellow mustard on grilled Jewish Rye bread from Zingerman’s Bakehouse (with your choice of an old or new pickle on the side!)
