Meet the Deli Detail: Suzanne Marosi

We’re introducing you to our passionate team of experts. Today’s featured Deli crew member is Guest Service Specialist, Suzanne Marosi!

Meet Suzanne

Suzanne is a born-and-raised Michigander, growing up just outside of Ann Arbor in Belleville and attending college in Mt. Pleasant. After graduating, she worked in Jackson County, then moved back to the Ann Arbor area to be closer to family. She previously taught elementary school students in art and as a classroom teacher for upper elementary students. Suzanne earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from MSU. She currently works as an assistant at University of Michigan’s LSA Technology Services, where she’s learning a lot about instructional design. You can also find Suzanne helping her friends at the Washtenaw Food Hub’s Sunflower Market and also here at the Deli!

Suzanne at the Deli

Suzanne joined the Front of House team in August 2024 as a Guest Service Specialist. She’s one of the great folks who greet our guests and help them navigate our menu, answer questions, and ensure everyone feels welcome! She also assists with guests making purchases from our Specialty Foods department, and guides guests to the Pick-Up Area when their orders are ready. Suzanne even delivers exceptional service to fellow team members around the ZCoB as a facilitator for our “ZCoB Experience” – a day-long training program for new employees, hosted at ZingTrain. But she’s not finished yet; she’s currently training to teach our Roadmap to Diversity and Inclusion class! Her favorite part about working at the Deli is the great energy and teamwork from her coworkers. She also loves talking with guests, whether they’re local regulars, University alumni coming back for their Zingerman’s fix, or first-timers who’ve heard how great our sandwiches are! She’s met folks from all over the country – even all over the world! Every so often, she has a chance to whip out her conversational German on the job!

Five Fun Facts

1. Some of her favorite food memories include her grandmother and mother making Hungarian paprikash and haluski, and trying calamari for the first time with her parents in Detroit’s Greektown.

2. If Suzanne had a sandwich named after her, it would be a grilled cheese sandwich made with brie, dark chocolate, and raspberry preserves. We love a good dessert sandwich.

3. Her favorite sandwich to eat AND to recommend to guests is the #234 O’Connor Bomber.

4. Suzanne loves to travel and go on food tours; her most recent adventure was Chicago’s Chinatown. She also loves exploring the local art scene wherever she goes!

5. She worked as a local coordinator for international exchange students and has spent time studying abroad in both Germany and Switzerland. (Cheese and chocolate – yes, please!)
