WE HAVE OUR VERY OWN COOKBOOK!
For over 40 years, we’ve been known for full-flavored, traditionally made foods—from our storied sandwiches and Jewish classics to seasonal side dishes and specialty food staples. As we say, “You really can taste the difference.” Now, we’re super excited about our very first cookbook, which will let you bring the unique experience of Zingerman’s into your kitchen and recreate our Deli foods at home.
But The Zingerman’s Delicatessen Cookbook is more than just a cookbook—it’s a tribute to the vibrant community that has made us a cherished institution since we opened our doors in 1982. Chef and partner Rodger Bowser and writer Lindsay-Jean Hard share beloved memories of the Deli as well as recipes from our past and present, including traditional Jewish dishes like Potato Kugel and Knishes, deli staples like our most-loved sandwiches and Zingerman’s Potato Salad, favorite meals like Tunisian Chicken, and so much more. Each recipe is a story, bringing to life the dedication of our employees, local farmers, producers, and you–our guests!
Good things take time to create, so while we know it’s hard to wait, you’ll be able to get your hands on a copy of The Zingerman’s Delicatessen Cookbook on Tuesday, April 6, 2027.
Major booksellers have the book available for pre-order RIGHT NOW. Pre-ordering the book guarantees you get your copy on release day, helps the book get ranked on all the bestseller lists (who doesn’t want to be a New York Times bestseller, right?!), and helps the publisher know how many copies to print and stock at bookstores. Those are all great things! For those of you who want to order through the Deli, we will be set up to sell books in store starting on April 6 (and every day after that!). We do sell books, but we’re not a bookseller, so we can’t really take pre-orders in a successful way. We promise, we’ll have lots of copies of the book in store for you to buy on April 6. And you’d better believe that we’re planning many fun events and book signings after the publication date.
So, you do you, and it’s all going to work out great! If you’d like to go the pre-order route, we’ll be doing signed copies for Literati here in Ann Arbor. Of course, it is also available for pre-order from your personal favorite local bookstore and all major booksellers. Or, hang tight, wait until April 6, and come in and buy a copy from us.
