We’re introducing you to our passionate team of experts. Today’s featured Deli crew member is Specialty Foods Manager, Aislinn McAllister!
MEET AISLINN MCALLISTER
Aislinn grew up in Southeast Michigan, then moved to Virginia for about 13 years before moving back to be closer to family. While in Virginia, she worked at Wegmans Food Markets for almost a decade in the Prepared Foods, Deli, and Cheese departments. She enjoyed the extensive on-the-job training and the opportunity to teach and train others—all of which prepared her for her current role here at the Deli!
AISLINN AT WORK
Aislinn has been a member of the Deli Detail since May 2022. As our Specialty Foods Manager, she’s here to support her team and make all the fun behind-the-scenes things happen such as bread orders, teaching both staff and guests about products in Specialty Foods, and planning for upcoming events and holidays.
Thus far, Aislinn is most proud of the amount of product information she’s “stuffed” into her brain in the few months that she’s worked here. She has especially loved learning about how the quality of ingredients really does make a difference, all of the Rosh Hashanah-specific items for the High Holidays, and how Zingerman’s Bakehouse breads are made. Though she was quick to add, “I still have a lot to learn about Zingerman’s and our products and I’m constantly learning and helping everyone on the team learn as well!”

Her go-to order is a Happy Hippie salad (a spicy & sweet combo of sweet potatoes, chickpeas, kale, and tahini) and a #74 Dave’s Open Road (one of the Deli’s top 10 most popular sandwiches; it features grilled Amish chicken breast, Nueske’s applewood-smoked bacon, Wisconsin muenster cheese, our own ranch dressing, and lettuce on grilled challah bread). She doesn’t have a Deli sandwich named after her yet, but should one be added to the menu in her honor, it would be laden with “prosciutto, brie, slices of pear, a little bit of dijon mustard, and a touch of honey.”

Aislinn has an associate’s degree in Environmental Science.
She has a one-eyed, tailless cat.
Her top two hobbies are playing video games and reading.
