DESCRIPTION:This event is IN PERSON at Zingerman’s Greyline\nFriendseder is to Passover what Friendsgiving is to Thanksgiving. If you’re reading this\, you’re a friend of the Deli’s\, so whether or not you celebrate Passover\, we’d love to have you join us at our Friendseder Community Brunch! \nAt a Friendsgiving\, you might expect to see twists on classic Thanksgiving dishes\, and Friendseder is no different (except with classic Jewish dishes\, of course). Friendseder is celebrated before the start of Passover\, so together we’ll enjoy a 4-course brunch that’s inspired by the Seder plate without needing to follow Passover dietary rules. The menu will include dishes like Lamb or Vegetarian Tagine and other surprises from our kitchen. And we wouldn’t forget fun brunch beverages—your ticket includes mocktail pairings! Or\, enjoy the cash bar during your brunch. Cheers! (Or rather\, l’chaim!) \nThis is our third annual Friendseder\, and we’re very excited to once again be partnering with The Well to bring their initiative to our Ann Arbor community. Your hosts for the brunch will be Zingerman’s Event Coordinator Tessie Ives-Wilson and The Well’s Executive Director Rabbi Jeff Stombaugh. Together\, they will lead you on a guided tour of this special brunch menu—the tastes\, products\, ingredients\, meaning\, ritual\, and traditions. \nThe Well is a Detroit area non-profit with a mission to create and foster an accessible\, inclusive\, and relationship-driven community. They use Jewish wisdom and rituals to help foster community\, but you don’t have to be Jewish to join the community! Friendseder Community Brunch welcomes everyone to the table to learn about Passover rituals and traditions\, but also encourages you to make the holiday your own! \nPlease note: This menu will contain dairy\, fish\, gluten and nuts. We’re kicking off a brand new event serious with one of our most affable mongers – Zingerman’s Deli fish buyer\, Kevin Bowker. You’ll enjoy a light meal composed of a few simple dishes made with some of our favorite types of fish. In this second offering – we’ll be exploring the tastes of sardines. Your tasting experience comes with a series of small plates and amuse bouche\, plus an hour of jovial discussion and conversation with Kevin. \nCooking with little\, oily fish packed into tins doesn’t exactly scream “sexy food”\, but sardines are having a moment despite their lack of alluring catchphrases! A staple in the pantry of France & Spain these little fish pack a big flavor and are really versatile in the kitchen. Tasty\, packed with nutritional benefits\, and in a container that’s a portable size perfect for weeknight dinners and backwoods adventure alike – sardines represent over a fifth of the tinned fish selection that we have on the shelf\, and for good reason! You will learn from one of our Certified Cheese Professionals\, Tessie Ives-Wilson and Deli Events Assistant\, Connor Valone.  You will learn to make both mozzarella and burrata … and best yet\, you will get to take the fruits of your labor home to savor.  Come by yourself or bring a friend.
