Jennie is joined by Deli Events Assistant\, Connor Valone\, to guide your tasting experience and talk about their tips and tricks for pairing with wine and the stories behind the foods they love. SUMMARY:Meet The Maker: Acetaia del Cristo
DESCRIPTION:This event will take place virtually on Zoom!\nItalians refer to real balsamic vinegar as tradizionale\, in contrast to the industriale\, or industrial vinegar on supermarket shelves. Vinegar experts speak in hushed tones of the saga of the Tradizionale vinegars. The vinegar is aged for a minimum of 12 years in wooden barrels\, after which an exacting panel of judges sample to decide the fate of these vinegars. Aceto balsamico tradizionale has an incredibly rich flavor\, a deep\, dark amber color\, and an almost syrupy texture. \nThese vinegars are so precious (and expensive) that we keep them in a locked cabinet in our pantry section. You know we love to open bottles and taste things with you when you visit\, these are pretty much the only things we’re not able to open to sample. \nSo that makes us super excited to bring you a rare opportunity to taste a variety of these tradizionales. We have our hands on a limited number of tasting kits from Acetaia del Cristo and we’re offering you the chance to savor them with us AND to meet the makers behind these very exquisite products. \nThe magic of Zoom allows us to travel to Italy to spend some time with Acetaia del Cristo and to learn more about these vinegars. These tasting kits are not sold anywhere in the US\, but we have a limited quantity to provide to you for this special event. This event is far less expensive than a plane ticket to Italy\, but you’ll feel like you’re tasting this vinegar right inside the production facility.
