DESCRIPTION:Ever wanted to learn to make fresh mozzarella and burrata like our Deli kitchen and Zingerman’s cheesemongers?  This class is a hands-on and demonstration-based learning opportunity to practice basic and advanced mozzarella making techniques. You will learn from Deli Monger Connor Valone.  You will learn to make both mozzarella and burrata … and best yet\, you will get to take the fruits of your labor home to savor.  Come by yourself or buy a ticket for you and a friend! We’ll be a small and intimate group that will get to experience a rare treat for the public – time inside one of our Deli kitchens! \nPlease note:  you will need to wear a hair/ head covering (baseball cap\, bandana or hairnet) and closed toed\, non-slip shoes (like sneakers) for kitchen safety. DESCRIPTION:When our congenial monger Chad first started at the Deli\, he was beginning his vision of living his life as\, “an old Italian man who drinks wine and makes salami in his basement.” Well on his way now\, Chad is living his dream\, in no small part thanks to winning a life-changing Zingerman’s Staff Scholarship! Enjoy a short presentation from Zingerman’s staff Scholarship winner\, Chad Hogan\, who wrote a vision for selling fresh pasta in Kerrytown–his prize took him to Northern Italy to learn traditional pasta-making techniques from the masters in Emilia-Romagna. \nWhile demonstrating making fresh pasta\, Chad will discuss his original scholarship-winning vision for fresh pasta at the Deli\, talk about ingredient and material sourcing\, tell us about his long-ranging trip to Bologna and beyond\, and give an update on his progress here at the Deli and in his home kitchen. We’ll also enjoy a few small plates of Chad’s fresh pasta\, dressed simply with ingredients from our Deli’s Specialty Foods department\, and a tasting pour of vino as well!
