Stay at home and join us virtually for STEEP: an exploration of tea. Unlike most Deli tastings, this event takes a deep dive on just one or two fantastic teas we offer. We’ll share the history of each tea, its production style, the terroir, the harvest, and anything else that makes it special. While we learn we’ll taste at least two steepings or preparations (sometimes more) of each tea to illuminate how the flavor can evolve. No matter your level of expertise you’re sure to learn something. You may even find a new favorite! Participants receive a 20% off coupon to use after the tasting.
July’s STEEP will feature two, fresh, Spring harvest teas. Extremely limited, these teas have been hand-selected by our tea buyer, Jackson and have been flown in direct from the gardens. In the same way we celebrate the autumnal olive oil harvest with exceptional Olio Nuovo, we relish the spring tea harvest with the first pickings of new buds and simple styles that accentuate the verdant side of tea.
The $20 fee will provide you with access to 1 Zoom meeting link PLUS one tasting portion of tea and cake. If you have multiple people in the same house that would like to taste together, add on additional tea and cake for $10 per person. The Zoom link will be emailed to you. Tea and cake can be picked up at the Deli on the day of the event or delivered to your local Ann Arbor address for an additional $5.99.
