Tea 101: A Virtual Tasting and Learning Experience

Tea 101 is a virtual tasting and learning experience where you get to stay home and join us virtually as we explore the world’s most popular beverage: tea! Awaken a new enthusiasm for an ancient food tradition while enriching your knowledge of Zingerman’s co-founder Ari Weinzweig’s favorite “affordable luxury.”  Jackson, our tea buyer and host of our monthly STEEP tea events will take you on a flavorful journey through seven distinctive varieties while discussing the history, cultivation, and intricate craft of tea making. 

The class will be 1.5 hours of content, with a short break midway through. The final 30 minutes of the class will be for questions and answers.

The $35 class fee will provide you with access to the Zoom meeting link PLUS a tasting kit which includes a portion of each tea, a slice of cake, and a small amount of neutral bread (gluten-free options are available upon request). If you have multiple people in the same house that would like to taste together, add additional tasting kits for $20 per person. 

We are also offering you a Camellia Sinensis Teapot and Teacup Set for a discounted price of $51 (reg $66) with your event registration.

Tea and accoutrements can be picked up at the Deli on the day of the event or delivered to your local Ann Arbor address for an additional $5.99.
