The Veggies
We LOVE our salads here at the Deli. Whether they feature brilliant peppery arugula from Garden Works, sweet, nutty winter grown hoophouse spinach from Tantre Farms, sugar snap peas, luscious roasted beets, romanesco, heirloom tomatoes or firecracker kale; these veggies please and astonish. Daily shoppers thrill to the constant invention in our kitchen and our struggle to keep thinking of names for all the new combos (Bleu-Blue, Roman Holiday, Snapjack, Chez Puh-leez or Dandy Rad anyone?). Our chef has cultivated relationships with dozens of local farmers and counting. We always serve the best market stuff available at the absolute height of its flavor.

Dressing your salad
We make all our dressings, sauces and vinaigrettes in-house from family and friend’s recipes, seeking top quality ingredients. Does it matter if the parsley in the Russian dressing is market-fresh or dry from a jar? Yes it does. Is that fresh basil, thyme, rosemary and tarragon along with Calder Dairy sour cream in the tastiest Ranch dressing you’ll ever find? Yes. We could replace the hand-squeezed lemon juice in our Greek Island Salad dressing with bottled, but… we won’t. Even the croutons are handmade with Bakehouse breads and extra virgin olive oil. We want every bite to be as good as it can possibly be.

Zingerman’s Raw-Milk Vermont Cheddar
The folks at Grafton Village are very dedicated to making traditional full-flavored cheese and all their cheddars are hand-made – as they have been for decades. They use only the raw milk from Jersey cows, an old breed whose milk is particularly rich and makes for a notably more flavorful cheese. Available on your sandwich or by the pound.

J.W. Rayes Mustard
This 4th generation operation in Eastport, Maine, uses a one hundred and five year old stone mill to grind its
seeds. This process does not use heat, meaning the mustard's full flavor and aroma are kept intact. Barrel aged for about four weeks, this smooth mustard is the ONLY yellow mustard we use.

Koeze Peanut Butter
We found this peanut butter almost right next door in Grand Rapids, MI! It’s the product of a lot of care and very little processing. Jeff Koeze sources good Virginia peanuts, roasts and grinds them fresh and adds a bit of salt. The result is not an air-whipped sugar-filled concoction, but an intense, velvety, mouth-watering sensation. You can have the best peanut butter in America at home! Grab a jar to go.

Calder Dairy Milk
This über flavorful non-homogenized milk is from a local Michigan family farm where each and every cow goes by a name, not a number. The cows are tended to with lots of T.L.C. and they are not fed any artificial hormones. Calder milk is our one and only milk supplier. You really CAN taste the difference!
