Cranberry Pecan Bread

This is a dense loaf packed with dried cranberries and toasty pecans. It's a well known phenomenon at the Bakehouse that customers grab a sample of this on their way out; they might get as far as their car door, but they come back in to buy some. It's deliciously habit forming. Available everyday.
$9.95/each

Ye Olde Wisconsin Mountain Cheese

Ye Olde Wisconsin Mountain Cheese
(hand selected specially aged batch)

Every single wheel of cheese has a personality. That's why we went to Wisconsin and tasted through wheels and wheels of this specially aged gruyere style cheese before selecting the ones with just the right character. A local Swiss cheese. Put it on a grilled cheese or eat it up by the wedge.

Pleasant Ridge Reserve Pleasant Ridge Reserve Cheese
from Dodgeville, Wisconsin

(hand selected batch)

Mike Gingrich at the Uplands Cheese Company in Dogeville, Wisconsin is devoted to making just one flawless cheese. He uses the highest quality raw cow's milk. He only make these cheeses when it's warm out and the cows are eating fresh grass. Hand-selected just for us, our wheels can outmuscle any European cheese.

La Quercia Rossa La Quercia Rossa
Cured Ham from Iowa

From Herb and Kathy Eckhouse. A ham made from humanely raised Berkshire pork and cured with nothing more than sea salt. And the Eckhouse's patience, persistence and integrity. At the Deli, Jacqueline, an Iowan, is gaga for this ham. She swears it has nothing to do with state loyalty and everything to do with its sweet, nutty, rich flavor.

Finocchiona Finocchiona gigante
from Columbus Salame Company in San Francisco

Huge, huge, huge salamis from the Columbus Company. A Tuscan style salami made of very good farm raised pork cured with wild fennel. A fun change of pace from Genoa-style salami. We'll slice it to order for you. Want to know more? Francois Vecchio, an expert on salami and the creator of this recipe will be in town November 13 to talk about it. Sign up now.

Long Pepper Bacon Long Pepper Bacon
from Ham I am in Arkansas

Two of our favorite things, together at last. Perfectly cured bacon from Arkansas, specially covered in Balinese long pepper just for us. What is long pepper? An Indonesian spice that is fruity and peppery and zesty. What is bacon? Maybe the best thing in the world.

Manchester Zingerman's Creamery cheese of the month!
Manchester cheese

Velvety-rich double-cream cow's milk cheese, named after the Michigan town it was born in.

Pasolivo Olive Oil Pasolivo Olive Oil
from Paso Robles, California

Maybe the biggest, boldest oil we sell. Winner of just about every Olive Oil competition it's entered, this California oil is a blend of five Tuscan olive varietals and goes with everything. Drizzle it over pasta or roasted butternut squash. Dip some bread or cover a steak. Drink it neat like scotch...

Lila Jaeger Olive Oil Lila Jaeger Olive Oil from Napa, California
From the Napa estate of a doyen of the California Olive Oil industry. A unique blend of olives give this oil the best flavors of two worlds — the classic fruity pepperiness of Tuscan oils and the silky softness of oils from Provence. Exceptionally silky. Absolutely lovely.

Rock Hill Ranch Rock Hill Ranch from Suisun Valley, California
Organically produced on a sustainable farm in Suisun Valley in California, this oil is the latest addition to our growing collection of American oils. A blend of handpicked Taggiasca, Casaliva and Leccino olives pressed by a Jesuit Monk who has made it his “mission” to mill the best oils under the most pristine conditions. The oil is silky, clean, green with a surprisingly sweet start.

Cider vinegars Cider vinegars from Pierre Gingras in Quebec
Nothing like the sharp biting cider vinegar you may be used to — these vinegars actually taste like apples. Made in Quebec using old fashioned apples, the Gingras family's line reminds us of Northern Autumn and falling leaves. Three distinct kinds — Balsamic, Organic and Natural. Try them all...

Fireball Sandwich November Sandwich Special
The Fireball

You may get a little sweaty just reading this. Cuban pork, fresh horseradish, clancy's, New Mexico green chiles, dijon mustard & onion on an onion roll. Like the spice? The only parachute provided here is the side of sourcream. Scorch-a-licious.
